Welcome

A Message from the Chief of Police

  Bill Caponigro

On behalf of the men and women who comprise the Prospect Heights Police Department (PHPD), I want to welcome you to our web page. As Chief of Police for the City of Prospect Heights, it is truly an honor and privilege to lead such a talented and honorable group of police professionals. The City of Prospect Heights is a diverse community with over 16,000 residents. Since the establishment of the Police Department in 1990, PHPD has been a leader in innovative policing; a founder and believer in Community Policing. We will continue to work together with our neighborhoods, businesses and schools to build strong community partnerships that help keep our city safe. The PHPD embraces a community-based, problem-orientated, data-driven policing strategy that emphasizes the use of problem-solving and community policing techniques and a reliance on data and good old fashion police work (feet on the ground) to identify threats, measure the results of our interventions, and to hold ourselves accountable to each other and the community. I invite you to explore our website. Thank you for actively engaging the Prospect Heights Police Department to enhance the quality of life for all who live, work, and visit this wonderful city. I welcome your comments, questions and feedback.

I can be reached at 847-398-5511 x101 or by email: wcaponigro@prospect-heights.org

Regards, Chief William Caponigro
