The Natural Resources Commission is an all-volunteer network designed to enhance, restore and manage the natural areas and resources in order to maintain and improve their ecological health and biodiversity. At the moment, they are restoring wildlife habitat and biodiversity to the slough, a historically important wetland in the heart of our community. Future plans include prairie restoration along the Prospect Heights bike path.
Every other Sunday throughout the year, work events are conducted where volunteers come together to participate in these restoration projects. All volunteers are welcome. For more information, follow the NRC on Facebook or visit their website at
